We've seen this sale about three times total throughout 2021, making it a somewhat rare discount on top of being the lowest we've ever tracked for the AirPods with Wireless Charging Case. Walmart is also offering this deal to its shoppers, with the option of free in-store pick-up.

For the lower-cost model, Amazon has the AirPods with Wired Charging Case for $109.00, down from $159.00. This sale is also being matched at Walmart, and it's the second-best price we've ever tracked on the AirPods with Wired Charging Case.

Next, Apple's AirPods Pro are available for $179.00 at Amazon, down from $249.00, which is another second-best price. It is being matched at Walmart as well.

Lastly, the AirPods Max remain on sale for $489.99 in Silver and Space Gray on Amazon, down from $549.00. We tracked a sale to as low as $454.99 on the AirPods Max earlier in the year, but today's sale has been the most consistent deal over the past few months. The same discount on the same colors can also be found on Walmart.

We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

Have they changed their approach to the AirPod Max battery management? I would like some over-the-ear AirPods, but I am never going to use that case.
I'm not sure, but I remember when they were doing teardowns, it looked like the AirPods Max shut down using Hall effect sensors, so you could probably just buy a couple tiny magnets yourself and use them as… off buttons?

If you look into third party cases ('https://www.amazon.com/Carrying-AirPods-Waterproof-Shock-Proof-Portable/dp/B08VWGCZ64#featurebullets_feature_div'), they boast "special magnetic materials" that disconnect the bluetooth, so I assume they're just putting a magnet near one of the cups in the right place.

I would prefer the 3rd Gen regular AirPods than the pros. But also the 2nd gen would be a smart buy if they low the price even more...
Same here. I much prefer the AirPods 2nd gen for their fit. I'm going to try and hold out until something gets announced this month. If we get an AirPods model that doesn't have the in-ear/silicone, I'm on it. Otherwise, just gonna grab a new set of the 2nd gen.

Someday I’ll get the Max, but for now $400 is still too much to stomach. AirPods Pro have been fantastic.
